  • Ordinary commodities can give heat release rates equal to those in tank fires (max HRR = 223 MW !) 
  • Max temperature = 1365°C, Dutch RWS (RijksWaterStaat) curve best simulated
  • Radiation levels exceed maximum for fire fighters
  • Walls require protection as well, HC curve best simulated
  • Fire spread occurred in all tests • Rocks started to spall
  • The PROMATECT®-T system perfectly resisted 4 high intensity fires (maximum 223 MW and 1365°C) and protected the tunnel structure as predicted
